How to make the most of your first 12 months as a CISO
With cyber security rising up the business agenda, the pressure is on to make an impact fast when starting a new security leadership role. It can be difficult to balance the business’ concerns with your own personal goals, especially when building relationships from scratch. Couple that with the fact that CISOs typically stay in role for 1-3 years (compared to 3-5 years for CIOs) and those first 3, 6 and 12 months are even more important for security leaders than our colleagues in IT.
ClubCISO Advisory Board member Paul Heffernan hosted a Dinner Debate on this very topic. In this video, Paul outlines some of the key takeaways from the event which saw 10 CISOs discussing how they’ve handled such a crucial time.
