InfoSec Path to the CISO Role: Future‑Ready Skills for the Next Decade

Wednesday 3 June 2026
14:00 to 15:30
ExCel, South Gallery Room 6

We are back at InfoSec this year!

In a threat landscape defined by constant disruption, CISOs are now enterprise risk leaders, boardroom translators, talent builders, and strategic partners—not just technical experts.
ClubCISO, a trusted global community of 600+ CISOs and senior cyber leaders, will convene an interactive discussion around two core questions: what capabilities will define successful CISOs over the next five to ten years, and what experiences, skills, and career milestones are required to reach that level?
Against the backdrop of accelerating AI, relentless cyber‑attacks, complex third‑party ecosystems, regulatory pressure and commercial demands, this session focuses on what really matters, moving beyond tools and technologies to explore:
  • What the “CISO of the future” looks like in practice
  • How today’s CISOs have navigated their own journeys to the role
  • Which skills, behaviours and career decisions most strongly influence progression to CISO
Attendees will leave with:
  • A clear view of the skills and leadership behaviours needed to remain effective over the next decade
  • Direct insight from experienced CISOs on what it really takes to progress into the role
  • Practical examples of career experiences, achievements and mindset shifts that accelerate leadership progression, ready to apply in their organisations and career planning
This session is available as part of the invitation-only Priority Visitor Programme. Access provided for Leader and Priority Visitor badge holders.
