An update on ownership 

Protecting What Matters — Community, Trust, Independence 

ClubCISO was founded to be a peer‑led, independent, non‑commercial community for security leaders. That purpose has guided every decision since — including the one we’re sharing today. 

As part of Telstra’s Connected 30 strategy and portfolio simplification, ownership of ClubCISO will transition from Telstra to Cyberhash, led by Manoj Bhatt. 

We want to ensure this change is deliberate, transparent, and designed to continue ClubCISO’s long‑term independence and sustainability. 

Why is this happening? 

Telstra’s recent strategic refocus on its core strengths in connectivity and digital infrastructure means it is no longer operating security services. While Telstra remains strongly committed to the cybersecurity ecosystem, continuing to own a CISO‑focused security leadership community is no longer the right long‑term fit.

Transitioning ownership removes ambiguity and protects the trust, clarity of intent, and independence that ClubCISO is built on.

This is not a step away from the community—it’s a decision made in the community’s best interests.

What does this mean for members? 

For most members, very little will change. 

ClubCISO remains peer‑led, independent, and non‑commercial

Community purpose, values, and culture stay the same

Governance safeguards and Board oversight continue 
No sudden or disruptive changes are planned

The transition will take place gradually over several months to prioritise stability, continuity, and confidence.

Why Cyberhash? 

Cyberhash has been selected to act as custodian of the ClubCISO community, supporting continuity rather than disruption. 

Led by Manoj Bhatt — a trusted and familiar figure to many in the CISO community — Cyberhash’s role is to help preserve what already works, while ensuring the community has the support it needs to thrive independently. 

Telstra’s ongoing role 

While ownership is transitioning, Telstra will remain a supporter and advocate of ClubCISO throughout the transition period. This approach allows Telstra to continue engaging appropriately with the community while reinforcing ClubCISO’s independence and credibility.

A thoughtful next chapter 

This transition is about protecting the future of ClubCISO—not changing its identity.

Independence, trust, and peer leadership remain non‑negotiable, and they will continue to guide every step of the transition.
